WU’s Art & Design

2021

The logo's "A&D" stands for Whitworth's Art and Design Department. This new name now includes Design, fully representing the department. While art and design work tends to focus on distinct subject matter and goals, sometimes they overlap. Using the ampersand, the A and D are then bridged together but only enough to visually keep the letters separate from each other. This also creates a sense of depth by having the characters overlap each other.
